We became first time chicken servants last May when six of the cutest little chicks chose us. I was reluctant but my 21 year old finally convinced me and I’m so glad he did! It took a bit longer to convince my husband😉. I highly recommend getting chickens to anyone who can! We ended up with five as one turned out to be a rooster and we can’t have them in city limits but we found him the best home. Our babes just started laying eggs in early December and today was the first day we got 5 eggs all in one day. So exciting!
How it started and how it’s going.

They really are amazing. And they survive out in the coop with no supplemental heat when the temps are dropping to 20 degrees F?! Amazing!
After the disastrous election in November, I just had to make a class on emotional support chickens, we all needed it. ❤️ It was fun learning how a few simple components could turn just about any shape into one that resembled a chicken!

It’s been so fun illustrating chickens in a variety of styles since then!

I made lots of fun chicken-inspired pattern brushes for this class too. Do you know how to make pattern brushes? I love them! I have lots of classes and lessons on them! And once you know how to make the actual brushes you can also take any of my seamless pattern classes or lessons and turn those designs into pattern brushes as well!

Aside from the classes and live lessons I have (that are part of my membership) here are the playlists on brush-making and seamless patterns in Procreate over on YouTube!

Enjoy!
